The focus of this movie is the school in its community. It highlights some of the key features of excellent practice in schools including: focusing on broadening and deepening the learning of children and young people and developing their confidence and self-esteem; understanding and awareness of the needs of the community; involving all staff and young people with the community; and external contributions to young people's learning across the curriculum.

The focus of this movie is working with partners to meet the needs of all children and young people. It highlights some of the key features of excellent practice in schools including: agreeing aims and objectives; supporting vulnerable young people; effective transition arrangements for all young people; maximising wraparound care and cross-sectoral and out-of-school learning; actively engaging all leaders with key partners.

Multi-agency approaches to improve learning

The focus of this movie is multi-agency approaches to improve learning. It highlights some of the key features of excellent practice in schools including: committing to joint working by all parties; clarifying distinctive contributions of community groups, professional and voluntary agencies and the business community; joint planning which draws on a range of information and support; joint training of staff from schools and partner agencies; focusing on improvements in young people's learning and support; and minimising barriers to partners' involvement.

Leadership and coordination

The focus of this movie is leadership and coordination. It highlights some of the key features of excellent practice in schools including: providing clear guidance on joint working; consultation and communication; involvement in joint decision-making groups; active seeking of feedback and constructive challenge from partners, stakeholders and the community; and openness and responsiveness to unsolicited suggestions from partners, stakeholders and the community.
